Can I sit down?

This installation is a set of 3 chairs impossible to sit down on due to their height and absence or dysfunction of the seat. The material emphasizes the failure in meeting between the cold, hard metal body of the structure with the wax skin that covers the back of the chairs.
This work is an impossible invitation, a metaphor for the potential relations that never take place.

These chairs were projected to be exposed in a corridor, at the entrance of which there would be a sensor to movement, which would start a recording in ‘looping’ when a person comes. The sound would be dozens of voices asking: ‘Can I sit down?’
